Previous Lunches: 2025

The charity for the our 2025 event was the Scottish Huntington's Association

The 2025 Women of Scotland Lunch was held on 25 April in aid of Scottish Huntington’s Association. It was another outstanding success, with about £25,000 raised for the charity. The 360 women were inspired and entertained by our superb speakers – Sarah Winckless MBE Olympic bronze medallist rower and patron of Scottish Huntington’s Association, Sarah Davidson CB, Chief Executive of Carnegie UK and Dame Katherine Grainger DBE, one of Britian most successful athletes and rowers, and Chair of the British Olympic Association – who shared with our guests their stories of how they had triumphed ‘Against All Odds’, this lunch’s theme.

The prize draw was a huge hit with excellent prizes donated by Macallan, Tisan Jewellery, Sheila Fleet, Allison Young paintings and many more.

The money raised will make huge inroads into the support services Scottish Huntington’s Association can offer its sufferers as well as raise awareness of this devastating genetic condition. People with Huntington’s can lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, drink and care for themselves. The dreadful toll on families is compounded further still because the disease is passed down from one generation to the next – anyone with a parent who has Huntington’s has a 50% risk of inheriting it too. There is – at present – no way to slow or stop the progression of Huntington’s disease.
